    Circuit Breaker Lugs

What are circuit breaker lugs? In the electrical industry, many types of wires and connectors are used for connecting electrical and mechanical equipment. The connectors used for connecting two electrical devices are known as electrical lugs. Cable lugs allow for the supply and distribution of electric current without any obstruction between the electrical cables.

    Types of Cable Lugs

The connection type of the cable and cable lug is a vital point concerning the lifetime of the system to be installed. Research shows that the majority of electrical failures are caused by connection failure, which makes using the right products important to minimize these problems.

    • Ring-type Lug

The connection part is completely closed in a circle shape and has a round structure and flat contact surface and is used for the connection of low voltage devices.

    • Fork-type Lug

The connection part is structured in the shape of a half-moon and can be used in the connection of relays, timers, and contactors.

    • Pin-type Lug

The connection part has a thin, long needle shape and is designed to terminate conductors into contact blocks and is used in the connection of terminal blocks and some electronic components.

    • Specific Lug

Application-specific lug types include fast-on type, hook type, and flat blade types and can be used in demanding applications.

    • Insulated Lug

The insulated lug meets the highest safety requirements and has plastic insulation at the connection point and the conductor can be brass or copper. This option is generally used in low voltage applications.

    Lugs Information

    Mechanical Lugs

These are durable, high-strength wire connectors for industrial electrical applications and are usually made of high-grade electrolyte copper or aluminum.

The Purpose Of Circuit Breaker Lugs

A cable lug is a connection piece that is used to connect the cable to the workstation of electrical devices. Their purpose is to provide convenience in the installation, maintenance, and repair processes of electrical devices or cables.

They are used where there must be a permanent connection and where a direct connection is inconvenient or not an option. They are also used in connecting fuse sockets, load switches, and electrical appliances.
